When you decide to get a new furnace, talk to our gas furnace sales department about troubleshooting tips for the unit. Sometimes there is a simple solution for problems that might appear to be major on the surface. For example, if the furnace does not seem to be heating your home, start by checking the setting on the thermostat. It might be set too low and therefore not calling for heat. You might also have a situation with the circuit breaker or fuse panel that controls the furnace. A tripped circuit or blown fuse means you are not getting power to the unit. Check to make sure the valve for the natural gas or propane is open. You should also take a look at the pilot light to see if it needs to be relit.
