 Sump pumps can save your basement. A sump pump pumps water away from the house. Improper sump pump installation can lead to problems. A backup sump pump can provide protection in case of a power failure
A sump is simply a pit or recessed area that collects a fluid. The fluid is then pumped from the pit. If there was gravity flow away from the area, there would be no need for the sump!
